My story

Hi There
My name is Julie Murphy. I am a double board certified Nurse Practitioner with the ANCC for both Family Medicine and Psychiatric Mental Health. In addition, I am a Certified Menopause Provider with the Menopause Society, (MSCP).
As an RN I worked in various settings over the years including ICU, ER, and med surge. I have cared for women after surgery due to cancer. I was a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner, caring for women after assault.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner for 17 years, I have worked in New York City at an Allergy/ Immunology clinic treating patients for various food allergy, environmental allergies and skin reactions. I have seen how food allergy, sensitivities, and histamine intolerance can shift due to hormonal fluctuations. I have spent 11 years working in a rural medical clinic treating patients for a variety of medical concerns and have seen how quickly our health can change in mid life with weight gain, insulin resistance, and the development of mental health concerns. I have spent the last 6 years delivering psychiatric care to patients in New Mexico. I have seen how the hormonal changes and social stress of mid life impacts mental health. My most recent focus has been to receive additional education on how to deliver hormone therapy to patients during the transitions of mid life, perimenopause, menopause, and for men andropause.
My schooling has included:
BA Psychology: UC Santa Barbara
BS Nursing/ RN: Columbia University School of Nursing 2003
Family Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of Columbia University School of Nursing 2008
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of University Of New Mexico College of Nursing 2019
I have a passion for helping people through the hormonal and environmental fluctuations we experience throughout the lifetime. My goal is to help you find the version of yourself that aligns with the true you. I will help you find balance and strength in a format that resonates with you. We can achieve this by utilizing testing, medications, supplements, lifestyle changes, and or exploring your own modalities of healing. I look at health as a holistic endeavor that includes physical, mental, and spiritual components.
